Controllers now run the latest version of Debian with timely security patches!
If you would like to try out the new system version and help us identify any potential issues, we invite you to upgrade.
Ways to switch to Debian 13
• Via FIT:The FIT installation process is standard. You can download the latest files here.
• Via apt:
Run the following commands in the terminal on your Wiren Board: `apt update; apt upgrade -y; wb-release -t testing -y; wb-release --update-debian-release -y`
The upgrade process takes approximately 40 minutes.
What's new:
• The "testing" release has been fully migrated to Debian 13. All future versions of our software will be released here.
• wb-2606 will be the final release based on Debian 11 Bullseye. We will continue to issue critical updates for it, but all active development is now focused on Debian 13.
• The following are available for developers in Debian 13:
– Mosquitto 2.0.21;
– Python 3.13.5;
– Node.js 22.15.0;
– systemd 257.13;
– glibc 2.41.
• The Linux kernel remains unchanged for now:
– Linux 5.10 for Wiren Board 6 and 7;
– Linux 6.8 for Wiren Board 8.
We will soon transition to Linux 6.18 LTS for Wiren Board 6, 7, and 8.
If you encounter any issues or if something stops working after the update, please contact our technical support team.
Your feedback will help us prepare Debian 13 for its stable release more quickly.
